Many years ago my grandfather, the late Circuit Court Judge Jerome Katz, hung up his robe and remarked on how much the practice of law had changed since he was first admitted to the bar in 1931.  My father, a trial attorney of over 40 years, echoes his father's sentiments as he heads into his final years of active practice.

Indeed, the modern practice of law is rapidly changing - incorporating the rich traditions of the past with the unquestionable advantages of today's communication and information technologies.  Legal pads, paper files and flip charts are now routinely replaced by Internet-connected computers, litigation document databases and electronic presentation software.
