Richard E. Katz, Esq. is a trial lawyer and President of Katz Consulting Group, LLC.
A 1987 graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a 1995
Order of the Coif graduate of the West Virginia University College of
Law, Mr. Katz’s legal practice consisted of civil litigation for both
plaintiffs and defense, in the areas of personal injury, products
liability, mass tort, and criminal defense. Throughout law school and
practice, Mr. Katz advocated and applied technology to the litigation
process, and is now recognized as a leader in the field.
With a scarcity of consultants versed in both technology and legal
process, Mr. Katz formed Katz Consulting Group, LLC
in 1999 to assist other lawyers with the integration and implementation
of technology in their practices. Since that time, Mr. Katz has worked
as a litigation technology partner with lawyers and law firms
throughout the United States, on cases both large and small.
In
addition to his expertise in the litigation technology industry, Mr.
Katz has significant experience designing, implementing and
administering LAN/WAN based data management, document imaging and
communication systems for private law firms and public defender
corporations throughout West Virginia. Mr. Katz is a regularly featured
speaker in the areas of litigation technology.
Outside of the office, Mr. Katz spends time with his wife, Jodi, his daughter,
Ava, and
his two dogs, Cozmo (golden retriever) and Harley (miniature schnauzer). Mr. Katz also plays keyboards in an
8-piece blues band, Blues Du Jour, and enjoys skiing, cycling, mountain biking and trail
running.
